There is a monster lurking and stalking the valley of Juárez.
It looks like a gangly hairless dog, but bigger and with all the pigment sucked out of it.
Like a comic book creature before it gets colored in.
It is weird.
There are unsubstantiated claims that the creature has killed lifestock in the area, but this account has been disputed by local authorities.
There is a UFO researcher claiming it is an interdimensional creature.
In some ways, I agree with him. Just not the way he means it.
You see, while this creature prowls along, in our minds it could be a monster hiding in the shadows waiting to pounce on the innocent.
It could be an escaped alien spawn, accidentally left behind after a UFO crash.
It could be a spirit from another dimension, trapped here and looking for it’s way back home, where all the creatures are de-pigmented.
Or it could just be a dog with some mange or genetic albino-ism.
Right now, all of those inter-dimensional creatures exist all at the same time. They exist in our minds and our imaginations.
Even if none of them are the “truth.”
That’s the beauty of OctoberWorld. Stories don’t have to be true to have an effect on you. They can be weird and frightening and wonderful all at the same time. You can come out the other side a different person, armed with more stories to face the world.
Stories are after all, nothing more than patterns. And the more patterns you expose yourself to, the better able to handle the patterns that arise in life. No matter how far out or creepy-crawler-weird.
I do question the sanity of someone claiming a thing is inter-dimensional when no one has ever proven such a thing exists. Why you would see an animal and immediately go that route – you’re either not well or you know that inter-dimensional creature sounds more interesting than a dog with extreme male-pattern-baldness.
Either way, the OctoberWorld clock is winding down. Tomorrow, I’ll be releasing A Strange Case for your reading adventures.
Until then, stay sane and maintain.
